What I do
Barleytwist Services is a sole trader activity in Dorset providing a personal scanning service (the activity I started with but continue for old times' sake) and now a website creation service for individuals and small organisations, clubs and schools. All my charges are very competitive.
Most businesses nowadays have a website to provide existing and prospective customers with 24/7 information about their services. If you are not "on the web" it may be a good idea to seriously consider the advantages of being there.
Website creation and Maintenance
The website creation service is for small organisations e.g. clubs, schools or any other organisation which requires a clean and effective web presence. This can be a simple brochure site or something more interactive which gives you some editing facilities.
The simplest way is the transfer of your business brochure to a web suitable format, obtain a domain name then get the site hosted. Your customers then have an easy way of finding out about your services, prices and achievements, 24/7. Further facilities and adjustments can be made later as required. Referring to your website from your advertising and business card gives that bit extra.
If you do not have a brochure then I can design a website for you with all the elements you need. You could then use this design as the basis for your stationary and printed brochure.
If you want guest books, diaries calendars then a Content Management System (CMS) type of website would be appropriate. This gives you some change control (if you want to get involved).
Additionally, I may be able to provide a maintenance service on your existing website, adding new content and updating the website. This will be at a very competitive rate per hour.

All the above include the first year hosting, .co.uk domain name setup charges and consultation during the design phase plus first year updates*. The design is based around your existing brochure (with extra pictures and graphics) and could include a slideshow of your chosen pictures.
*Ongoing changes for your site, e.g. changing your charges table or text, are made at £18 per hours work. Typically you would not want more than an hour or two worth of changes per year. Adding a new page based on the existing set would be about two hours work.
Hosting
I do host a limited number of websites at very reasonable charges. This is mainly for those websites I create and maintain.
Slides and Photos
Transferring old slides and photos (by scanning) to CD/DVD which can then be viewed on a PC or TV is ideal for someone who is looking for an economical way of preserving all that family history currently stowed away and who can never actually get round to sorting them all out. I will do this for you.
Transferring them to a computer readable form (digitising) is a more secure way of passing these precious records down through the next generations. Remember also that slides and photos in their original form will degrade over time and could end up being ruined by damp and heat. Family history documents can also be scanned and converted to a suitable form. Charges are low and start from 28p per slide up to 50p each for individual glass slides or negatives. Minimum quantities apply.

Websites are designed with accessibility in mind so that visitors with specific requirements for viewing and reading website content are considered.
This is the school website I created and maintain: school website. It is still under improvement and serves the school well.
This website (the one you are viewing now) is one of the simplest forms. I will be improving it when time allows but customers come first! You can of course have graphics, slideshows, videos, etc. in your website.
You can have a similar, simple one page (or more) website closely matching the colours, look and feel of your brochure or business card.
